These Cups

6x8 acrylic on canvas panel

  1. In your paintings when do you decide to use a color that "appears" to not be in a realist painting, like the touches of magenta in this one? I enjoy your deliberate brush strokes, To me they seem to be deliberate and confidant choices. I'm very impressed with your work.

    1. Thanks Ken! A lot of times my underpainting pokes through, and this time I primed the canvas with red. Also, I've heard other painters say that value trumps color, and I don't always feel like I've mixed the perfect color, but if the value looks right to me sometimes I will just stop there :)
