My name is Shannon Bauer. I was born in Michigan and now live right outside of Cincinnati, OH. I've always had an interest in art and loved to draw and paint as a child, but I took my first formal painting class when I was in college as an art major with a graphic design concentration. I've kept at it ever since. It seems to be the most effective way for me to clear my thoughts. (And now I just can't seem to stop...) Thanks for stopping by!

Moody Sea
6x8 acrylic on canvas panel
I usually shy away from painting water. At least water with waves. However, we go to Nantasket Beach a lot because there is a playground there that my son likes (And my husband and I like the water, so it always seems like a good idea for everyone). The other night when we were there I was snapping a bunch of pictures of the waves with my phone. The sky in this painting looks moodier than the photo, but my gut told me to leave it alone, and this time I listened!

Keep it simple, stupid.
4x4 acrylic on masonite board
Ahhrg! I've had a few very frustrating days. Today I tried my best to keep it simple, hoping to work my way out of a rough patch.
