My name is Shannon Bauer. I was born in Michigan and now live right outside of Cincinnati, OH. I've always had an interest in art and loved to draw and paint as a child, but I took my first formal painting class when I was in college as an art major with a graphic design concentration. I've kept at it ever since. It seems to be the most effective way for me to clear my thoughts. (And now I just can't seem to stop...) Thanks for stopping by!

Grays
"A Gray Sea" 8x10 acrylic on canvas panel
"A Moody Season" 5x7 acrylic on canvas panel
It seemed like it hadn't rained for a long time here, and then on Friday it rained all day long, making for a soggy 4th of July parade in town. Maybe all that rain impacted me a little, because since that day everything I've painted seems to have a grayer tone.
Luckily the fireworks were before Friday, and we had a great evening for them. :)

I love your gray paintings Shannon. Gray and white is what I paint with most. I like grey(gray) for its calm and favor the greys of the sea and rain.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerrie! I agree. A quiet, rainy day can be really peaceful.
